Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Young Artists Mastery for Performing Arts W.L.L. ("YAM", "we"), Doha, Qatar, collects and uses personal data through the yam.qa website and the YAM mobile app (which opens yam.qa). We handle personal data in line with Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016).

Who uses YAM

The website and app are for parents and guardians, and for adults applying to work with us. Children do not use the app themselves; a parent or guardian provides any information about a child.

What we collect

• Parent or guardian details: name, mobile/WhatsApp number, email address, account password (stored encrypted), nationality and relationship to the child.
• Child details you give us: name (English and Arabic), date of birth or age, gender, school and year group, allergies or other notes you choose to share for the child's safety, an optional photo, and the names and relationship of people authorised to collect the child.
• Bookings and payments: the programmes you register for, order notes and refund requests. Card payments are processed by SkipCash; we do not see or store your full card details.
• Job applications: name, contact details, CV file or link and cover note.
• Messages and suggestions you send us, and referral details (a friend's phone or email) if you choose to refer someone.
• Technical data: basic logs needed to run and secure the service. The app does not use advertising identifiers and contains no ads.

How we use it

To register children for classes, camps and clubs; to keep children safe (allergies, authorised pick-up); to take payments and issue refunds; to contact you about your bookings; to review job applications; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Children's photos and records

Children's photos, albums, staff documents and receipts are kept in private storage. They are never publicly listed or linked; authorised YAM staff and your own family account see them through short-lived (1-hour) secure links. Photos of your child are only taken for academy use if you gave consent at registration, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers who help us run YAM: website hosting (Netlify), our database and file storage (Supabase — servers in the Asia-Pacific region, so data is transferred outside Qatar with encryption in transit and at rest), e-mail (Google Workspace), WhatsApp (Meta) when you choose to message us, and our payment provider (SkipCash). We share data with authorities only where the law requires it.

How we protect it

Access is limited by role (for example teachers cannot see payments), families can only ever see their own records, staff sign-in supports 2-step verification, money records cannot be erased (deletions are kept in an audit trail), and all traffic is encrypted (HTTPS).

How long we keep it

We keep account and booking data while your account is active and for as long as needed for accounting and legal requirements, then delete it. Job applications are kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights and deleting your data
